Fiercely independent Helen Winters was born completely blind, but she vowed never to let her disability keep her down. She did not expect a traumatic event to devastate her life and force her to drop out of college. Disillusioned by the cruelty of people, Helen retreated from society to live by herself as a reclusive writer in the woods—where no one could ever hurt her again.

When a brilliant young doctor shows up on her doorstep, promising her that his new research can give her the ability to see for the first time, Helen stubbornly refuses. She has learned not to trust anyone, and to rely only on herself. But Dr. Liam Larson will not take no for an answer. He makes it his personal mission to rescue Helen from her loneliness, and bring joy into her world once more—the joy she has denied herself for so long.

When Helen’s demons come racing back into her life, threatening to rip her apart and destroy the strength she has carefully rebuilt, Liam is the only one who might be able to save her.

Can he reach the broken girl in time, helping her to heal and see the world in a different light? Or will Helen’s grief send her spiraling out of control, lost to him forever?

My Thoughts:
This book was really just very unextraordinary.  I think I may have had the wrong mindset going into this book.  I was expecting a new adult book and this definitely falls into adult, which isn't really my thing.
I thought the characters were overall pretty bland.  There were some funny moments, especially with Owen, but Helen really bored me.
The plot was, while like nothing I've read before, wasn't something I'd ever really want to revisit. It just wasn't really something I'm super interested in.
The writing was decent, but it didn't suck you in.
I don't have a whole lot to say about this book. It wasn't awful, but I certainly wouldn't say that it is very good, and I would only recommend this to someone who feels like they would really like this book.

Thanks for reading!

Perfect Opposite by Zoya Tessi

Perfect Opposite
By Zoya Tessi
Published: May 18, 2014

Their wishes were simple and modest. Fate had other things in store though, and she can be a real bitch sometimes.

- All he wanted was to get the job done and somehow to endure those long months playing nanny to a spoiled little rich girl. Without strangling her with his bare hands in the process. Well, it is going to be much easier said than done.

- All she wanted was to escape the past and live like any other nineteen-year-old girl. Her plan definitely didn’t include the arrogant, tattooed savage, with his awful mohawk hair and lack of social graces, whose only mission was to stick real close and mess up her life.

But, people aren't always what they seem to be, are they?

My Review:
I didn't finish this book.  I thought that the main character was extremely annoying and immature, and instead of finding the male lead attractive and sexy, I thought he was creepy.  The plot elements that were supposed to be deep and intense, I found extremely lacking.

Thanks for reading!

June TBR

I would love to get into these books during the month of June.  I've got school wrapping up this week, the last of my exams were on Monday, and I graduate next week, so I'm hoping to get lots of reading done this month.

Half Bad by Sally Green
I finally picked this up at the beginning of May and I've heard so many wonderful things about it that I feel I really need to get to it.

Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes
I'm in such a huge fantasy mood right now and I wantb to read it so badly because I've been hearing so many fantastic things about it.

Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell
I read this book on my nook last year and I wasn't going to buy it in physical copy because while I did really enjoy it I didn't absolutely fall head over heels in love with it.  But then I'm wandering around Barnes and Noble the other day and I see the collector's edition just chilling on a display. So I'm like "Ermagerd, what is this?" I oen it up and there's artwork on the iinside and I swear to you guys I think its the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.   So I'd like to reread it in this beautiful edition.

Thanks for reading and let me know what you're reading this month.

My Rating: 4.5 stars

My Thoughts:
This book is a retelling of Rapunzel, but it's not really a retelling, it's more taking elements of the story and imagining how they would work in real life.  However, I thing that Rachel Schieffelbein pulled it off excellently because I absolutely loved this book.
I thought that all the characters were great!  There was a very small cast of characters in this, which I normally don't like because I tend to get bored reading about the same characters for an entire book, but that didn't happen once with this.
I thought that the Rapunzel elements worked very well for the story and I really liked the backstory with Anya's mom and Lauren.
I loved that Anya was a photographer, and reading this book actually made me want to get into photography.  I don't know that that'll actually happen but we'll see.
The only issue I had with this book, the one thing that pulled it down from a 5 to a 4.5 was the insta-love.  Oh insta-love, how you kill me.  I don't like insta-love, that's no secret.  However, I would say to still read it, even if you don't like insta-love because it's written in a way that it doesn't feel like insta-love, even though they fall in love over about four months or so, which isn't an unreasonably short time for most insta-love, normally it's like 2 weeks.
I would say overall this book was wonderful.  It's super short, a perfect beach read, or for when you're super stressed, or trying to meet your goodreads goal.
